Configure your students.
When you add a new student in ArtikPix, you will configure your student via a wizard (i.e., setup assistant). The wizard enables you to configure your student's decks, sound positions, syllable lengths, grammatical levels, and matching level. The configurations are included when you select students for a session in the flashcard or matching activity. If you don't want to select students for a session, you can choose the Quick Start mode to simply configure decks and sound positions (and matching level for the matching activity). However you decide to configure your students, ArtikPix delivers the content you want.
Score your students.
Collect scores (aka data) in ArtikPix without the hassle of pencil and paper. ArtikPix features a group scoring system that works just as well for an individual student as it does for a group of students. If you do group sessions, you can collect scores (and take notes) for an unlimited number of students in the flashcard and matching activities. Detailed scores are displayed by sound position (e.g., initial b) and grammatical level* (e.g., sentence) during the activities. And there's no need to worry if a student makes a tallying mistake while self-monitoring. Just tap the undo button to fix it. *The flashcards activity includes word and sentence levels; whereas, the matching activity includes words only at 3 matching levels: Easy (3 pairs), Medium (6 pairs), and Hard (10 pairs).
Export for a range of dates.
After you collect data in sessions, you don’t want it stuck on your device. In ArtikPix, you can easily export data (scores and notes) for one student or all of your students. And the best part is you can export the data for a range of dates; that is, you select start and end dates for exporting. This is great when you need to report progress for a period of time, as in a quarterly progress review. The exported results allow you to accurately assess progress for students across sessions.
Create your own cards.
If you purchased the full version or all of the decks in the free version of ArtikPix, you can create your own cards (using the app's illustrations or your own photos). It’s easy and fun to do with students. You may want to create cards so that a child can practice his/her sounds in spelling words and/or individualized sentences. After cards are created, the decks are intuitively available to select for use in the flashcard and matching activities. The custom cards are a great supplement to the vast amount of existing content (1,033 total cards, by default) in ArtikPix.
Configure options.
ArtikPix has options to enable varying levels of support for students. There are audio and visual options to facilitate speech practice. For example, the audio options may help students who have difficulty with reading. The options can also be configured to remove audio prompts and distractions. ArtikPix has audio options (e.g., All Audio) and visual options (e.g., Hide All Tallies) for the flashcard and matching activities. The options can be turned ON/OFF via the Options screen (More > Options).
Make in-app purchases.
The free ArtikPix version comes with the 'b' deck for flashcard and matching activities. 23 more decks are available for purchase in the app. You can buy them individually or all of them at once. To buy decks in the free version of ArtikPix, tap the Shop button on the Activities screen. Then, tap the price for a deck (e.g., 'ch') in the ArtikPix Store. If you purchase 'All Decks' or all of the decks individually, the Create module will be enabled to create custom cards for the flashcard and matching activities.
